FAQ { Weddings }

<>  Why Palmetto Dreams Photography?

You can book your wedding with Palmetto Dreams Photography with confidence that you will receive beautiful & consistent images.

<> Do you travel?

I reside in Florence county and will travel throughout the state with no travel fees.

<> Can we see a wedding from beginning to end?

Absolutely! Full, recent weddings are the only way you can truly know what your photographer is capable of. You can see my recent work on the BLOG. If you like to see a wedding in it entirety send me a request via the contact page, and I would love to share them with you!

<> How do we save our date, and how does the payment system work?

A simple $300 retainer fee & a signed contract is required to hold your date. The retainer is non-refundable as it is a payment for marking your day off the calendar… (not something we do for free:) International weddings work a little different, just set up a consultation and we will be excited to go over the details. After your deposit is received your date is booked! The remaining balance is required to be paid 30 days prior to the wedding date. You are more than welcome to “make payments” on the remaining balance as long as you stay within the guidelines listed above. You can book your date at the consultation, via credit card over the phone, or check by mail. Any insufficient funds will have an additional charge of $30. (Sad that I have to mention that) You can relay any questions  you have via email at info@palmettodreamsphotography.com or call Jenn at (843)933-0093.

<> Can I provide a list of photographs I want?

If you insist on a list, we will be glad to check off the must-have-shots. Lists really aren’t for me on a wedding day, I feel as if  it slows me down and actually contributes to me missing some great candid moments. However, I know there are some particular situations that you may have, like a split family, and want certain images of them and you. We will discuss all the s during your last consult before the wedding.

<> When will the family pictures be taken?

The process I have in place is: I am with the bride as she is getting ready, then we will get the shots of her and her mother, and her and the bridesmaids and so on. The assistant photographer will get with the groom and his guys to prepare for their shots while I am with the girls. Then I will scoot on over and get their shots. I ask to have a minimum of 30 minutes directly after the ceremony to get the family shots in. And of course with the permission of the venue I will be shooting during the ceremony, trying to go unnoticed :) And I will be getting those great candid shots during the reception. Don’t forget about the “First Look”! It’s where the bride & groom see each other before the wedding and take pictures together. We do this in a very intimate quiet setting and alone if you wish.

<> Do you still take posed family images?

Absolutely! Jenn strongly believes in those family images, as they are records for you entire family at an important time

<> How many images can I expect?

Great question! I would love to give you an exact answer to that! It is all according to your particular wants and the size of the wedding. Just to give you an estimate you can expect anywhere from 200-1000+ images. Wide range huh??

<> What type of equipment do you use?

My equipment keeps growing and growing…. At the moment you can expect a range of professional cameras and lenses. Such as: (all Canon) Cameras: 5D(x2) ,and a XSI for backup just in case. Lenses: 24 mm f/1.4, 50mm f1.2L, 135mm f/2L, 16-35mm f/2.8, and a 70-200mm f/2.8, a couple of Speedlites (flashes) and about 60gigs of memory, several battery backups and light enhancing reflectors and filters.

<> How long have you been in business?

2011 makes 5 years!

<> Is Jenn the only photographer with Palmetto Dreams Photography?

Yes and no. I am the main photographer. I have one assistant photographer that does minimal work and shoots mostly details  of the wedding and assists with the lighting equipment.

<> Do we get to keep the negatives?

I will provide you with high-resolution digital images. When the files are released to you, I will provide a list of resources from which you can get quality prints. We retain the copyrights to the images and the right to use them for promotional purposes, competitions, professional review, and so on. You will get a written release that with allow you to make unlimited reproductions and copies for friends and family.

<> What will the albums look like?

It will the modern coffeetable style book, the images are imprinted on the page itself.

<> How does the album design process work?

Jenn gives you six months to decide on the images for you album. If you do not select your images within that time frame Jenn will make a first draft design of the album for you. You will get three rounds of changes to it before a change fee is assessed. Once you approve the layout Jenn will help you choose your album cover style, color, imprinting, and other small details. Then you will sign off on the album design and it will go to print. All of this process can be done online with ease. Once you finalize everything it will take about six weeks to receive your album.

<>What is an online gallery?

the online gallery is a private, password protected section of our website where all of your images can be viewed. The gallery will be online for a year and after the year it can be re-posted for a fee. Keep in mind that this is a password protected by you, we will only provide you with that information.
